Want to install an access control system

If your premises does not have an access Control system and you wish to install one then the first move is to obtain a quote from a reputable Security Company who will design a system to suit your premises and comply with the building code.

Once a quote is received then before proceeding a building consent must be obtained from the local authority to proceed with the work. This application is generally made by the owner of the building or their agents.

Once consent ( or exemption) is granted then the work can proceed However the Building Warrant Of Fitness agent for the building must also be informed as this may affect the listing of scheduled systems applicable to the building.

Service and Testing requirements:

Any Access Controlled System must be tested by and IQP in accordance with the fire engineers requirements.This information is available from your local authority.
